St. Peter's Court is a 1960's built "Wates"
high rise block. By 2000 the building fabric and services were in
need of a major overhaul to meet 21st century standards and
current 'u'values.
With current financial restraints Waveney D.C.
sought to use the property as a pilot for the potential transfer
of all it's housing stock to a Housing Association.
Following a selection process Mulalley was chosen
to undertake a 'Design and Construct' refurbishment of the
building which included new insulated asphalt roofing, UPVC
windows, external 'sto' rendered insulation, new bathrooms,
kitchens, heating and electrical rewiring.
With the collapse of the stock transfer the
Employer asked Mulalley to undertake the project directly which proved a great success.
As a consequence, in 2003 the Project Team won a
Considerate Constructors 'Bronze' Award and "a glowing
recommendation from the tenants and Waveney District
Council".
And in April 2004 the Project Team were again
awarded with a Considerate Constructors Award, this time a
'Silver', with the judges noting the 'exemplary standards'
Mulalley used in approaching and carrying out the contract.
