The works consisted of minor repairs and the
redecoration (using Sikkens wood stain) of the buildings hardwood
windows. The contract is to be completed in 2 stages (stage 1
complete).
The building is high profile, in a prominent
position in Whitehall, Central London, and ‘Grade 1* Listed’.
Liaison with English Heritage was essential
throughout the works including seeking their approval for the
choice of colour for the re-decorations.
Special security measures were taken due to the
sensitive nature of the building use including the design and
purchase of specialist red uniforms and the thorough security
vetting of all site personnel.
