This project consisted of full external
refurbishment of a five-storey block of 52 flats. The works
included the demolition and reconstruction of one of the lift
shaft towers, concrete repairs to the walkway soffitts, new
expansion joints in the walkways and complete re-asphalting.
Extensive timber replacement and retiling works
were completed to the mansard roof. Flat roofs were re-felted and
a new safe access system was installed. All of the existing
external windows and doors were replaced and a new lightning conductor
system and communal aerial were installed.
Permarock insulated render was applied to all
elevations to enhance insulation. Internally limited work was
carried out however all of the existing gas fires and bathroom and
kitchen fans were replaced along with some electrical adaptations.
Communal areas received new electrical
installations, a new CCTV door entry system and were completely
redecorated.
New rear gardens were formed for the residents of
the ground floor flats and a playground with a multi sport ball
court was provided for the residents' children.
