This
refurbishment project required the removal and renewal of windows
and doors, structural repairs to the external fabric, common
stairs and balconies, and a total renewal of the mechanical and
electrical services to four occupied housing blocks totalling 91
units.
During the works a major problem with the location
of the lateral electric supply was identified. Access was found to
be required to 24 flats at one time to switch these services.
Our Resident Liaison Officer played an important
role in ensuring these works were carried out with minimum
inconvenience to the Residents. The Site Agent and RLO's efforts
were a major contribution to enabling the works to be completed 10
weeks early within a 26 rather than the original 36-week contract
period.
The project received plaudits from the
Consultants, the Client and the residents and the Project Team were awarded a Silver Considerate Constructors
Award as a recognition of their efforts.
