On
the site of a former public house and redundant factory, Mulalley
were employed by Amicus Horizon to construct a new six storey
residential block, comprising 65 one and two bedroom flats with
16,000 sq feet of basement car parking.
The construction innovately combined numerous
products and materials around precast floor slabs spanning a
traditional steel frame structure.
The external façade was constructed from
lightweight blockwork clad with an insulated render finish.
This extremely confined site is in close proximity
to a primary school so extra care was needed during construction.
As safety precaution an additional pelican
crossing was established so the public and children could be
safely directed away from the site.
