Located in the heart of Holborn, London, this
complicated design and build project provided many difficult
challenges both in the design and the subsequent construction
stages.
This constrained corner site consisted of a mixture of 19 light
industrial and retail units which were combined
to provide a mixture of 2-5 bedroom apartments for social housing.
This conversion (and planning requirements to maintain the
existing facades) required major demolition works and extensions
to the rear of the property and the construction of new lifts,
staircases and balconies to provide new access routes for the
residents.
A new top floor was added to the Dorrington St elevation and
additional space was created to the upper levels of the Leather
Lane shop units to increase the residential space.
