Following
an extensive interview procedure Mulalley was successfully
appointed as Partner of the L.B. of Southwark to undertake a major
refurbishment scheme to this large 1930's estate.
The works involved the renewal of more than 600
kitchens and bathrooms, replacement UPVC windows, electrical and
heating upgrades and, the construction of a multi million pound
environmental and landscaping scheme to provide disabled access
throughout the estate
To enable the Residents to visualise and select
their colour schemes we constructed mock-up kitchens and
bathrooms, which they could view before making any decision.
As part of this regeneration new disabled access
was provided to all the properties, new car parking, new pathways
and pavements were laid and playgrounds were constructed for the
local children. The local shopping centre also received a makeover
including a new water feature and plaza to form a community focal
point.
In 2005 the Mulalley Project Team were rewarded
with a Gold Considerate Constructors Award, with the judges citing
"this very well managed and successful scheme showed
exceptional consideration for the Residents".
