Mulalley were appointed to construct a 19 unit
residential and 200m2 commercial scheme on this prominent site.
The initial project brief from Broomleigh to
Cartwright Pickard was to design a scheme which would enhance this
key location and provide high quality homes.
Mulalley worked with Cartwright Pickard to review construction
techniques and meet the sustainability agenda.
Mulalley provided a steel frame design solution
with cedar cladding and insulated render walls ensuring low levels
of energy usage.
The location (adjacent to a busy traffic and
railway junction) also required high levels of noise insulation to
ensure tenant comfort levels.
The seven storey building provides large airy
accommodation, for rent, some with spectacular views over South
East London.
The excellent quality of finish, architecturally
interesting features, the undercroft carpark and large amenity
space has produced a new standard in social housing to the great
satisfaction of the new residents.
