Construction of a two storey 3800m2 reinforced
concrete frame building to provide facilities for teaching
construction and related trades, welding and car mechanical
engineering for the Community College. The building was
constructed in a 52-week contract period.
The level of fitting out was simple in format but
completed to an extremely high standard, as it was required to
provide a quality and modern teaching environment. The electrical
and mechanical installation was Contractor Designed to meet the
specialist needs of these varied teaching requirements.
Works included the construction of the main
building, associated car parking for 40 vehicles and landscaping
to the surrounding areas.
The site was adjacent to an occupied housing
estate, which necessitated high levels of resident liaison and
environmental controls to reduce disturbance and maintain the
clients good relations with its neighbours.
