As one of
four constructor partners for Homes for Haringey’s Decent Homes
Programme Mulalley were pleased to be awarded the Wood Green area
with its potential workload value of £52m.
The Wood
Green area contains a quarter of all of Haringey Housing Stock and
improvements will be made to all council homes which do not meet
the Decent Homes standard. Works will include:

Replacement of kitchens and bathrooms,
*
Electrical rewiring
*
Installation of new windows, external doors and smoke alarms
*
Some roof repairs or replacement
*
Insulation improvement
To
progress the programme a 10 week pilot of 40 units, including
homes in Progress Way, Wood Green, were selected for refurbishment
in advance of the delivery, which is to start in April 2008.
An
inspection visit, led by the leader of the council, Cllr George
Meehan and Isidoros Diakides, Cabinet Member for Housing Services
and the chair of the Board, Mike Jones was recently undertaken and
the group visited the home of Nihat Yilmaz to see how works have
progressed.
