The Mayor meets the residents as decant gets
underway at Tanner & Nicholls Points
Following
on from Mulalley's successful completion of the early phases of
the £25 million refurbishment of the Brooks Road, Plaistow,
(including the stunning transformation of Smiths Point) the next
phase, which includes the similar refurbishment of Tanner and
Nicholls Points has started.
Due to the extensive nature of the works, the
residents of both blocks are being decanted. On Saturday 29
September 2007, the first resident to be moved, Ms Kerry Duffy,
was visited by the Mayor of Newham, Cllr Robin Wales and Cllr
Zulfiqar Ali, to wish her well in her temporary home.
It is expected that in 9 months time the process
will be repeated when she moves back into her refurbished
home.
Also on hand was Mulalley's Community Liaison
Officer Sue Lee together with Mick Madely, Mulalley's Site Manager
and Sandra Spalding, London Borough of Newham's Project Officer to
ensure everything went smoothly on the day.
