As our works near completion on St Matthews Estate we organised a fun day to thank the residents for their
consideration during the works.
This major regeneration scheme for three housing Associations, Tower Homes Presentation & L&Q involved the
demolition of existing blocks, the construction of 3 seven-storey tower blocks (63
units), 3 terraces of housing (24 units), and the construction of 12 “zed” housing
units (zero carbon) utilising innovative construction methods. In addition we
undertook major environmental works and the refurbishment of several housing
units
A five a side football tournament was held and the Mulalley Site Team put on a
good show but failed to win against the strong local competition.
Based in the community centre on the heart of the estate, Mulalley’s ‘Play Your
Cards Right’ was well received by residents young and old.
Careers Day
Following the fun event on the 17th August a Careers Day was held on the
estate.
Arranged and coordinated by Kanisha Samuda, Housing Regeneration Officer
for Lambeth Council, its purpose was to highlight to the local residents the
opportunities for training and employment in the Brixton area.
Lisa Jennings and Jackie Turner represented Mulalley
and supplied information
on the routes to a career in construction and also future work opportunities.
Connexions, the young persons’ information, guidance and advice service, also
attended the event and representatives were impressed with Mulalley’s
commitment to training and our Trainees Scheme.
