As one of Islington’s major Decent Homes
Partners, Mulalley took a proactive role in this end of August event. The day’s remit was for
local residents to meet the contractors, find out more about the works to their homes
and have a ‘jolly good time’.
Organised by Homes For Islington as part of their community engagement programme, we welcomed the Mayor of
Islington, Cllr Barbara Smith, who kicked off the day with her impressive
ride on the Mulalley bucking sheep and then having her caricature drawn
by the visiting Mulalley artist.
With bouncy castles for the young and bingo for the not so
young, we catered for all ages. The residents also enjoyed face painting, slides
and sumo wrestling and copious amounts of free refreshments and ice
creams.
Girdlestone Estate has works programmed to commence towards the
end of the year. Mulalley’s Resident Liaison Officers were also on hand
to discuss these and get to know the local community.
This year Mulalley are undertaking over £10m of Decent Homes work for
Homes for Islington, including replacement kitchens and bathrooms as
well as major external upgrades.
