In November 1996, John Grady, the Fieldway Community Care Centre Treasurer, contacted Mulalley & Co. Ltd at their Head Office asking if they would consider installing a new kitchen in the Fieldway Community Centre

The Centre is located in the heart of an area where Mulalley has been carrying out Decent Homes works since October 2004 in partnership with Croydon Council. As part of our Community Liaison Initiatives, we were delighted to install their new kitchen.

The official opening of the newly refurbished kitchen was held on the 12th December 2006 with the local Fieldway Centre Group, Mulalley & Co. Ltd, Amanda Guest-Collins from Croydon Council, Councillor Simon Hall and The Croydon Advertiser attending.

John Grady said, “I can’t believe how quickly it all happened; one minute I was asking for a new kitchen, had an answer within a couple of hours, met the RLO and Senior Project Manager within the week and two weeks of refurbishment works later, it was all done.”

When asked how the refurbishment kitchen would make a difference to the Community Centre, John replied,

“It is already making a difference. So much more interest has been made in hiring the centre for weddings and other functions. It’s unbelievable. I cannot thank Mulalley enough for what they have done.”
