"This project involved the external
refurbishment of 46 properties containing 77 residences.
The work included new roofs and repairs, window
overhauling, brickwork and garden wall repairs over a
number of roads in residential areas of North London. The
first impression when approaching this site was that it
was well presented and took into account local needs. The
main site accommodation was in an existing house and the
Resident Liaison Officers office doubled as a
"meeting-coffee-chat" room for the local
residents. An excellent pre-start document was sent to
those affected with all contact information. The site was
in an area with a very high Jewish population and so work
was amended as needed to suit holidays and holy days. All
operatives wore hi-viz tops, bearing the question
"have I been considerate?" and a card scheme was
used to record views. School visits were made and the
local Jewish leader was apparently very pleased with the
approach by the team. The client, London and Quadrant
Housing Trust, commented that: "Mulalley's also
considered the local community and general public through
a number of individual gestures.""
