"This project formed part of a major
urban regeneration project in Plaistow east London, and
consisted of the renovation of a multi-storey block of
flats, the restoration and improvement of local housing
and surrounding infrastructure works.
Divided into distinct areas, there were
three different projects managed from one central
location, but administered by three separate teams
utilising pooled resources, ideas and knowledge, to the
benefit of residents and operatives alike. The caring
attitude adopted by the teams provide residents with drop
out rooms of great comfort where they would retire from
the effects of work being carried out on their properties.
Stratford Square had the added
responsibility of having the site compound located within
its control. The site team managed this by means of a
well-signed system of separate entrances for operatives,
residents and visitors. Facilities were segregated, with
access to the respite areas being through a small
courtyard garden for residents, and via the induction area
for operatives..
The three teams led by John Gristey,
William Spencer and Danny Murphy and their site teams
along with back-up from Marie O'Donnell and her team
provided an example to the industry. Congratulations to
them all for presenting our industry to the public in such
a positive light."
