Judges Comments: 

"This was a Local Authority external redecoration project involving residential properties spread over a number of streets.

Leaflets and letters of introduction were sent to tenants prior to commencement, providing an outline of the works. A Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) was permanently on site to engage with tenants. Initial letters were followed up by a letter from the RLO, who then provided an introductory pack. The RLO was also involved at survey stage and met everyone personally. Project information and letters weren given to tenants. This was good quality and highly informative, provided in a style which presented a caring approach. A portable safe was provided for tenants to use when work was ongoing in their property. This strengthened their confidence in the contractor's caring attitude.

The contractor put up a fence for a neighbour and renewed a front door and bell. Tenants' Association representatives contributed to the site meetings.

The site management looked to engage the wider community through the use of a children's entertainer to give a Health and Safety talk. Site also assisted with a local street party."
