"This contract involved the
refurbishment of seven blocks of flats on an inner London
estate. It was one of those contracts where excellence
showed when turning the corner and walking to the site.
The presentation of the works and site set up were
excellent.
The Site Manager was ably assisted by his
Resident Liaison Officer and between them they dealt with
all local issues, starting with the distribution of a
first class information package. All operatives wore hi-viz
jackets with a "have I been considerate?" logo
on the back and this was supported with forms available
for residents to complete about the work and workmen.
The Estate had its own Management
Organisation whose representative was sceptical at the
start, seeing the builders arrive, but he was eventually
brought around to see that builders are in fact generally
agreeable and excellent relationships were formed and
maintained. Grahams expression was to "liaise and
shuffle" works to suit the local people and he
involved the local authority in helping on the recycling
of waste arising.
An excellent trouble free project."
