"Under
any circumstances upgrading of old multi-story blocks
would be considered a difficult task but in this case 478
flats were involved in a run down area of London. The
contract covered a wide area of disparate blocks with
multi-ethnic occupation adding further problems of
communication.
The
Site Manager, with support from the company , must
be congratulated for carrying out his task with enthusiasm
and flare. The work involved considerable organisation but
the secret seemed to be related to the quality nature of
the co-operation with the tenants achieved by the use of
an in-house Liaison Officer. However, this was further
assisted by provision of an attractive Meeting Suite for
the LO, occupants, contractor, Residents Association etc.
I addition all letters and information were were geared to
the nationality of the tenant and if necessary the
provision of an interpreter.
It
was an excellent example of how a large renovation of
multi-occupied property should be handled."
